Contribution Rules
Only eligible members can make contributions to any International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) election campaign. A monetary contribution must be made voluntarily by the eligible member with his/her personal funds and cannot be made with funds provided by a third party or reimbursed to the member. No employer may contribute, or shall be permitted to contribute, directly or indirectly, anything of value, where the purpose, object, or forseeable effect of the contribution is influence, positively or negatively, the election of a candidate. No member (who is not a candidate for International Office) shall contribute more than $2,000, in total, for use in the International Officer election.
Only Active IBT Members may contribute. Retired IBT Members may donate to Legal & Accounting. No Employer, Union or Non-Member contributions will be accepted.
